Scented Tea
Chinese tea-making has excelled at producing scented tea for many centuries, from the well-know jasmine and osmanthus teas, to the 'decorative' teas which, when infused, make floral arrangements in a glass. One of our favourites however is ginseng infused oolong tea from Taiwan. Some varieties of this tea create a sweet sensation in the mouth and throat after the cup is finished, whereas as others have a strong, fragrant bouquet. The ginseng adds to the health benefits that oolong affords, and is very popular amongst the elderly in China for this reason.
A premium scented tea will retain its flavour for two to four infusions.
